Curriculum
The home like environment and small group setting of My Little Sunflowers is what separates us from a center-based group daycare/preschool. We offer a loving and nurturing environment that focuses on children’s individual and social development. Our program is enriched with literacy, music, and age-appropriate play times, as well as a structured schedule for activities, crafts, mealtimes, and nap time. Our small group setting is a perfect learning situation.
We use a developmentally appropriate curriculum kit which encompasses seven developmental areas. These seven areas are: Social/Emotional Development, Language/Literacy, Creative Arts, Physical Development/Health, Science, Math and Approaches to Learning.
Daily Activities:
Consistency and routine are vitally important parts of children's daily lives as it helps to comfort and give stability. Therefore, we will follow the same schedule on a daily basis while allowing room for flexibility.
Activities tables are planned that engaged the interests and learning needs of the children.
Language/Literacy
Reading stories, interactive books, finger puppets, learning songs, learning words English and Spanish. Lots of books are provided in entire centers areas.
Dramatic Play Area
Reading stories, interactive books, finger puppets, learning songs, learning words, English and Spanish. Books are provided in entire centers areas.
Sensory activities
Play dough, water, and sand table activities are available for children to explore. A light table has recently been introduced to the classroom, offering new opportunities for sensory and visual exploration.
Arts and crafts area
Artwork, coloring pictures, fingerprints and painting. Art table we provide a sort of materials for imagination development.
Math/Science Block Area
Explore a world of creativity with blocks, numbers, a variety of building pieces, figurines, and Legos—offering fun and educational experiences for all age groups.
